Only Shadows of Evil working?

So I got the game on the release day and I installed everything, but I can only play on the zombies map Shadows of Evil. If I try to start up campaign, multiplayer, or even the other zombies map 'the giant' it'll load the game mode, but then just freeze with a black screen. Does anyone else have this problem or have a solution to it?

huh...you know what's weird? for me it was the opposite until late last night. I got the season pass yesterday and downloaded the giant, when i played the giant the game started running buttery smooth...except for a few hitches, I figured I changed a setting and it worked, but...i don't know. Anyway with your issue...that's normal for a lot of pcs with this game. Please post your PC specs. I'll try my best to help but there's only so much we end users can do, there's gonna be a huge update this next week.

Windows 8.1 64-bit, i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz, 8192 MB RAM

I don't know if you need more spec information than that since I'm not super techy, I will admit.

your graphics card would also be beneficial, because black ops 3 is pretty finicky about the gpu

ah a laptop...okay for 1, never call activision, they don't believe in laptops and custom built gaming pcs, for 2: you can go into your config.ini file with notepad and adjust some settings in there, like lower everything, turn off vsync, lower corpse count to like 8, change everything to low settings, keep adjusting things little by little until you find a sweet spot where the game performs good, and don't adjust it further. Lowering resolution is also a go-to

Well, here's the thing, performance isn't my issue, it's getting anything to START is the issue. Why is it JUST Shadows of Evil actually loading and not freezing on a black screen, and nothing else? I would think that Shadows of Evil would have more issues than 'The Giant' because it's a bigger map. But what do I know. >_<

You could always try this; right click on Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 in your Steam library, click on properties, local files and then verify integrity of game cache. This will check that all game files are what they're supposed to be and will download any missing files :)

He added me on steam and told me that was the first thing he did.
