If you have more than 4 cores on your CPU, read this!
*My original rant towards crying people was edited*

As the title says, its not a proper fix, but in task manager change the Affinity of the game to Cores: 0, 1, 2, and 3. This will (or might) work ONLY if you have 6+ cores.

Any other fixes are welcome!

Thanks, but it goes to you as well, you tried and confirmed it plus the adjustments you made. Kuddos! :bo3winky:

Why, thank you as well, good sir.

I don't think disabling cores matters if you're on an Intel CPU. A quick glance at the Task managers shows every other thread is not being used which implies that HT is not being used for this game and all the processes are already in the primary physical cores.

Well, that is what worked for me :D

Although, i7-5960X here, so that's 8 physical cores by itself. Maybe someone else could test it on quad or hexa-core intel cpus?

We were talking about the physical cores, the game itself might not be well optimized for more than 4, hence the issues he was having. Still hope it gets patched soon, its a fun game to play

Definitely is :) it is the best CoD to come out in years!

I have a pretty similar setup and setting the FPS to 58 seemed to help a bit. I run at a steady 55 - 58 FPS for the most part now. The problem I have is the game locks up every 15 - 20 minutes. Usually during checkpoints. When this happens I can't do anything on the PC but power it off.

EDIT: I'll have to try that cores change in this thread to see if that helps. I just saw that.

Start up Black Ops 3, then open task manager, under processes(prior to Win10) or details(if Win10) right-click BlackOps3.exe and select priority as Low and affinity deselect ALL OTHER cores except for Core 0, Core 1, Core 2 and Core 3

The problem is the game is broken if you have a higher end 6 and 8 core processor. As in you have 3930k, 4930k,5930k, 5960x etc.... People with 4 core processors as in 4770k,3770k, etc... Do not have the same issue. When they released the i5 patch they broke the game for those of us with more than 4 cores. Turning off hyper threading helps, but that is not a fix. It is really pretty unacceptable as far as fixes go, and something trey arch needs to fix. Anyway here is hoping they fix it, because the stutters are so severe it makes the game literally unplayable. Disabling cores and going into the bios to turn off hyperthreading in 2015 is not a fix.

Until they fix it, you know you could try assigning only 4 cores to the BO3 process and see if it fixes it for you, that's what this thread is about :)

Its working but if u are using 144hz monitor and u need to have 150+ fps in game - 4 core cant make a stable perfomance for it, Ye if u are playing on ultra low maybe its no problems but disabling 2-4 cores in game reduce the perfomance much (33% to 50% depending on processor). 60hz on 144hz monitor is unplayable and if u have good videocard playing on lowest settings is also not best choice i think :D
