Game only works in offline mode

It seems the game only runs in when Steam is in offline mode. If my client is in "online", the game runs for about 20 seconds before I get a "blackops3.exe has stopped working". If I go in offline mode, I never get this, and I can play SP. Anyone else get this?

I'm having the exact same problem, I've tried factory restarting my pc, disabling firewall, updating nvidia drivers and everything else recommended and I've had no luck. I was able to play perfectly fine for the longest time and randomly this happened and I haven't been able to play ever since. The only time the game even launches is when I start steam in offline mode and there's no point in playing CoD without multiplayer. Does anybody know a way this could be fixed?

AVG was blocking it for me, after I turned that off, I was good.

I don't have AVG or anything like that, I haven't installed any antivirus software as I've heard they can cause these problems. I use the default windows defender and have allowed black ops 3 through every firewall or restriction possible and it still hasn't worked. When I launch the game it loads for a few seconds, then asks if I want to launch in safety mode and regardless of what I select, the window disappears and when I look at my task manager, Black Ops 3 is just sitting in my background processes. I've tried waiting for an hour to see iif it was just taking forever to load and it still didn't launch so I'm pretty upset
