Is the last mission of the campaign impossible to solo on realistic?
I've been playing on realistic and have gotten to the final mission where you have to storm the compound and hack a door to open it. While running to the door you have an infinite stream of asps, drones, and robots that constantly spawn in. Of course on realistic you die instantly.

In the three times I've made it to the door, two of those times I died instantly and in the one time managed to open it I then died because it takes time to open and you still get shot after after finishing. As far as I can tell there is no way to beat this as a solo player :/

Anyone managed it?

I can't beat it either. I'm playing with a friend and we still can't.

I managed to do it with a friend last night, just got incredibly lucky on the run to the door as he went for it and somehow managed to not get shot. Sadly can't recommend any strategy, one in a 342 shot it seems. Lol.

i have managed it solo realistic, i think the first time it might have been bugged in that there were suddenly like 1000 enemies just spawning on me, having attempted it a second time after restarting mission, yes there were infinite enemies still but i found it strangely easy if im honest.

Having said that i had also not even discovered how to unlock and use tac rigs at that point either and i would strongly reccommend the one that deflects rockets and grenades for this section. Also im pretty sure you are able to take control of the ASP thing with the defenses up using a control core ability. This for me would only be available at max level where i can switch control core trees because i find Chaos control cores OP.

Yeah, when I was playing solo at launch it seemed completely impossible in terms of enemies spawning right on top of me but we managed to do it pretty quickly last night so I feel like something must have changed. Great tips!

Well I completed realistic difficulty the first time about 4 days after its release or something before there was any patches and I redid the mission right after I finished it the first time.

Maybe I just got unlucky then, lol. Either way, glad it's over with.

I'm playing through the whole campaign for a second time on realistic difficulty since I did it offline first now I'm doing it all online :P

Is it true that realistic difficulty the enemies unrealistically take a ton of bullets to die or did they change that?

I mean they take normal damage, one or two shots to the head and a variable amount to the body. They sadly do not get the one hit rule as well, not a Devil May Cry style Heaven and Hell mode.

If you don't rush to the door right when you kill the last mortar tank it will flood more and more enemies. Its also a ♥♥♥♥♥ when going for the immortal fame bit.

So I attempted this mission again on realistic since I'm at this point in my online campaign playthrough and can now confirm that you CANNOT control the ASD or PAAWS things like I said earlier as 'Target is already being controlled' so it does still suck and is hard.

Spent like an hour at that one spot last night after work and found that you can climb ontop of the left side black statue thing but not the one on the right. Unfortunatly you can still be hit when laying ontop of it by flying drones so if you can get lucky maybe this will allow you to at least kill the Central ASD.

I will be attempting to finish this mission for my second playthrough realistic difficulty tonight after work since I gave up last night :P

Try a combination of upgraded repulsor armor with the upgraded cloak skill under the Martial skill tree of the cybernetic cores. After you beat the final ASP, wait for cloak to recharge, then cloak and run like all hell till you get to the door and activate, pretty sure while you're interacting with the panel you've got "plot-armor" so to speak.

Oh and good luck, lol, you'll need it.

Yes using the cloak is a good idea I have never really used that much myself il maybe try that tonight after work, first time playing realistic I managed it without the ability to switch cores and no tac rig enhancements at all. God knows how I managed it :P

Without any Tac-rigs? What... how... i don't even

Edit : Others i can manage without except for upgraded repulsor armor, on Realistic, nade spamming is insane.
