Graphics Issue: Bloom out of control
I have a 4k monitor, intel core i7-4790 @ 4 ghz and 8 cpu cores, a GeForce Titan X, and 32 gigs of memory. When I play I get the bloom effect overblown to the point the whole screen can white out and I can't see anything. This is the primary reason I have NOT gone on multiplayer because I can't trust that I won't get whited out.

In single player this has made a few missions difficult, and one quite impossible because I have to shoot into a cluster of those white blooms, which leave me with no targets at all that I can even see. The entire screen is white

I have tried at both the MAX effects settings, and all the way down to nothing, and yet that overpowering bloom effect remains.

Please advise.

Love the title, solar flare.. it fits. I'll get that screen shot now.

And this is a mild case.. later on when I go up to the criminal hideout... the entire screen is whited out.

Well! Call me an idiot... driver update worked. It bothers me though that nvidia had to do something custom JUST for this game though, which... as a software developer, I have to kinda question. But, it is what it is.

Sorry for being a noob, guess I'm forgetting basic troubleshooting tips since I hadn't done it for so long.

Could you tell me which driver you updated to and maybe what graphics settings you are using please? For me even with the brightness setting turned down 30-40% (making inside and regular areas MUCH too dark) outside areas and the skies are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blindingly bright, with the sky being damn near a bright white. It makes many maps very difficult to play on and I cant find how to adjust bloom anywhere :steamsad:

I didn't check to see what version of the drivers I had before, as my system was bought from ibuypower.com (ok, so I'm plugging them a little, I like their hardware.) The new driver version is 10.18.13.5887 as per the device manager for my GTX Titan X card.

Thanks for your reply. good for you having a titan :) Im guessing they use different drivers though as that number format is totally different from the ones for the 600-900 series cards. One of the recent ones being 358.91 for example.

I'm pretty sure they have numbers like that for wha tI downloaded, but since I was on remote desktop at the time, I couldn't start the nvidia tool.. NOW that I'm home again... I currently have 358.87 installed. I went with stable, not bleeding edge.

The Device manager that comes with windows displays numbers differently then as how the nvidia tool does.

Ah yes that makes more sense. And yes, I specifically downloaded the 3rd to newest driver for that same reason. Im guessing Im using the one right after yours. Sadly that hasnt fixed the issue for me :( The skies are so bright its literally painful to look at on many maps. Despite indoor areas being too dark because Ive got the brightness at -35%

Is your Display Gamma in game's menu set to Computer (sRBG), or HDTV (best for TVs)?

It was on computer (sRBG). I just tried changing it to the TV mode and it didnt really seem to help sadly :( Although when I changed it back in the same match I couldnt see much difference (maybe it requires a restart even though it doesnt ask?)

Even when I turn the brightness down -100% the bloom/blown out bright areas are still extremely bright. But then there is massive contrast with the shadowed/darker areas too so it makes the issue even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worse.

Hows it connected to your machine? VGA? DVI? HDMI?

Not sure if it's relevant but.. curiousity is piqued now.
