Text Chat Not Working

In game when I press T to open the chat, the chat opens but when I try to type nothing happens. It works sometimes, but mostly doesn't and it's really fustrating.

EDIT: So chat and SHIFT + TAB (Steam overlay) both work for a about 10 minutes and then they stop working. If I click on the DLC button on the menu, the steam overlay is "forced" open but I can't close it. Text chat pretty much the same as above it works for about 10 minutes then just stops. I can open it with T but text input doesn't work. (Can't rename classes either or anything.)

Anyone got a solution?

Same thing is happening for me....but only team chat shows. And then if i toggle off team chat and toggle all, nothing shows at all

Yep, I've also noticed when my chat decides to stop working; I can't name classes or paint jobs etc. It's like text keyboard input is completely disabled but still works for game controls (i.e WASD, Space, Shift, etc)

I'm still having this problem almost 1 year (all but 2 months) later. It's very annoying.

Check your nat type i checked all my boxes and it started working again

if it works then suddenly stops working after 10 minutes, it sounds like there is a software conflict on your machine.
