Right click on "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" in your list of games then select Properties. Once the new window pops up, click on the Local Files tab then under it click on the Browse Local Files button. It should open up a Windows Explorer window with the root folder of the BO3 installation with a folder named "players".
This seems to simply be a copy-and-paste repeat that's being echoed all over but trying running your client then exit and look in that file to see if the 'WorkerThreads' line still exists. When you see that it doesn't, report back here so we can't stop wasting people's time with this old, pre-patch solution.
Thanks for the suggestion. It actually made it a second or so more in a window. I saw some flames, but then the entire monitor went black with a looping/buzzing in the speakers and the monitor reporting "Input Not Supported".
Sounds like corrupted download.

Since everyone is so focused on the video drivers, I figured I'd mention it. I don't think I've had to consider audio drivers as a problem since Windows 98.
This actually makes a lot of sense as I disabled my on board audio with one of my computers and it has a Realtek chip on it (thus allowing the game to use my Xonar card). I effectively removed that from the equasion; not exactly the same way to reach the end goal but we had the same net effect.
So for anyone else still getting the black screen, are you using Realtek on-board audio?
How To Disable Drivers on Windows
1. Click Start
2. Type devmgmt.msc
3. Select Sound, video and game controller
4. Locate Audio device
5. Right click and select Disable.
6. Done
