Also field of vision is 80 by default. Haven't changed it. I've even tried playing a lower resolution 1600 x 1200, it has the same performance hiccups as 1080p. But apparently its fps is really stable when lowered to 80% in the menu to 1512 by whatever.
The fps never goes below 30 in the campaign. But is that really what I have to live with, especially in multiplayer???
Mate, your card is almost 4 years old.
It is quite the opposite. The game uses between 3.5 and 4 GB of VRAM Maxed out @ 1080p. It never really drops below 2GB in usage even on low @1080p
Yes I'm comparing an open world game (Witcher 3) that is consistently considered to be one of the most beautiful games of 2015 which was optimized to an unoptimized piece of FPS crap that looks average for a 2015 game and has had performance issues since launch even on a 980TI and no proper SLI support.
I'm not an idiot, I'm not expecting everything to be on high. Just consistent performance at some level. It's not even giving 60 fps with everything turned off and on low.
Two different engines? Kiss my ass newbie. If I can run SW Battlefront at 60 on med-high settings, I should be able to run this. Asking for help doesn't make me a kid, it means I know my limitations and I appreciate people who help other people. Learn some respect for other people and stop acting like a 10 year old. Or do you really need to troll to feel good about yourself.
I'll share what he did (actually, it was me that set it up for him):
In your nVidia control panel, turn Texture Filtering - Quality to "High Performance"; turn Threaded Optimisation "On"; turn Texture Filtering - Trilinear Optimisation "On"; turn Power Management to "Prefer Maximum Performance".
In the game video settings, set resolution to 720p with renderer resolution set to 100%.
In Advanced Video Settings, turn everything to "medium" - including Shadow Map Quality - and set Anti-Aliasing to "SMAA x2".
You also need to run the game with the executable priority set to "High". You need a program to do this, because manually setting it will result in it being automatically set back to "normal". So, as Process Hacker will result in a kick from the BO3 servers (with the "not authorised 5" error), use Process Lasso, which is free to download:
https://bitsum.com/processlasso/
Use Process Lasso to always run the game with the BO3 executable set to "high" and your hit registration will be much sharper. THIS IS A MUST when using lower grade GPUs.
Another thing he uses is Nvidia Inspector to overclock his GTX 660 Ti but it isn't really vital. But BO3 requires you to play MP with high frame rates in order to beat the other guy to the punch. So, every little bit helps.
And last but not least, set these settings in your config.ini file:
This sharpens up hit registration more than GPU performance. But it helps when your frames drop on some maps - it helps to keep the hit detection and your mouse input consistent.
Also graphics card hasn't been overclocked so I hope this helps someone else with similar machince specs.
Texture detail is set to medium
Texture filtering set to High
Subsurface scattering on, shadows to medium with dynamics on
ambient occlusion low
FXAA anti aliasing (Not much difference from SMAA)
Resolution: 1920 X 1080
Never encountered such aggressive vsync before.
Nv cant do nothing even with me playing at 60fps theres still a few rough spots..Game needs to be patched a bit more
