If you are unable to get 120hz or 144hz at the desktop, the first thing I am going to ask is - How is your display connected to your PC ? HDMI or DVI ? Try using a DVI-D cable if you are using HDMI. I believe your card has DVI, DVI-D, HDMI and DP connectors and I am sure the HDMI spec of that card and display are limited to 60hz.
If cabling is not the problem, then check to make sure Windows is detecting your monitor correctly - if not, then install the INF supplied with your display (if applicable) or remove the current display from Device Manager and reboot.
:elite:
