Any word on the flamethrower? Getting nerfed soon?
I enjoy rolling with the flame thrower as much as the other one. But I can still take a step back and look at it objectively and say, yea, ok, this is not properly balanced for these tiny ass maps and the quick reactions of mouse and keyboard.

You activate flames and go God Mode for way too long and way too easy.

My idea is to limit "ammo" capacity, as is, it just goes on and on, the pain train of fiery death. Or shorten the range considerably, so it isnt a "win against everything but snipers" deal. I would say another option is to limit the damage, but that would take away the "fun" of the weapon.

Thoughts?

It's the most BS thing in this game, they nerfed the shotgun range but keep this ♥♥♥♥? It's so stupid to think that a dev could over look that. The shotgun needs a range buff otherwise they can't compete with all the SMG kids. Not to mention you auto die if they tag you once.

I vote the range nerf, though to be fair, there are ways of playing around it. I found myself using the Flamethrower myself and find myself in situations where my thoughts are "Damn, I wish I were a bit closer to that AR user so I can melt him down."


I wanna say nerf it down to Shotgun range, but Shotgun Range is obnoxiously long in this game in my opinion.

Shotguns are not long range weapons. The closer you are, the more damage you do. SMG need to be more range than shotguns or be useless since their damage doesnt have the insane damage scale up in close quarters. Also, you need to aim with SMGs.

every specialist weapon is essentially OP because they are all 1 hit kills. I think the flame thrower is fine, maybe lower time limit on it though.

i think alot of specialist weapons are way op. the thing is: you get to use a great weapon and get even more scorestreak points..
IN MY OPINION it should be like: great weapon (reaper,flamethrower etc) but getting less points. that would be kind of a nice tradeoff.
at the moment the reaper and flamethrower dude are way too op. just wait until you get you special weapon and you have almost an instant heli

Nerf the range, keep the damage. Damage is fair as it is a specialist weapon but the range is huge which it really shouldnt be

Another alternative is to allow people to build against it. Say, make the flack jacket flameretardant? So that it lowers damage considerably against flack jacked targets. Or something along the lines of that. Use a perk to counter it.

The best of today’s slugs and slug guns can deliver accuracy as good as many ordinary hunting rifles out to 100 yards, 150 yards, and even beyond. Shotgun range is nerfd way to much.

And with slug ammo, you still need to aim. So if they replaced all shotgun ammo with slugs to increase the range, the shotgunners would suddenly need to aim AT people rather than in their general direction, defeating the purpose of the shotgun.

Alse, in real life you die from a gut shot, or at least are out of the battle. You may survive if you get medical attention really fast, but you won't be running around "straifing" and continue shooting your weapon unimpeded.

Call of Duty is a game. Not real life. You cannot bring up "real life" when discussing game balance.

You can counter most other specialist weapons with proper regular weapons. Also, flack jacket does counter warmachine if i remember correctly, so. Also, no. The flame thrower is not fine. Everyone and their grandma use it, and that is indication enough that it's superior (ie unbalanced) compared to other specialist weapons.

the last couple of cod games the shotgun has always been nerfed to hell, because off the sprayers with smg , they think they should win a fight from 2 yards spraying thats why cod games suck these days, i bought this one aswell and asked for refund.

You guys are not being reasonable. When the game is dead in a month it will be your fault. Nerf this nerf that... And that. What is wrong with you? Ruin.. one gravity spikes, you are dead. Sparrow, same. Spectre, one slice and you are gone. Flame? The same. Why can't they just leave them us they are? I can't even understand what you guys are thinking.

What about the tempest, 1 shot 1 kill AND, and I say AND it can shoot down killstreaks in the air, why not nerf that muther fcker.

Flak jacket against warmachine helps to almost nothing, I know that.
Whats the counter perk against Gravity Spike? Thats a one hit.
Sparrow? One hit
Ripper? One hit
Scythe? Pretty strong
Hive? One hit
Annihilator? One hit
Tempest? MULTI KILL
Its like the haymaker, you will see the purifier coming and then youll be the one wholl have to adapt to the situation. Is it unfair if a firebeak pulls out the flamethrower and onehit you? No, but thats just the casualness of the game imo. A real competitive game wouldnt have those abilities, or really weak ones.
