Do you need t7 patch to play solo?

Im seeing a lot of posts about needing a community patch to not get hacked or viruses while playing. But if I plan on only playing by myself do I still need the patch?

I would want to assume no only because I haven't noticed anything strange happen to me, and I was playing solo zombies or in the game's own "offline" mode. However because of the DRM the game does need to have an internet connection constantly in order to function if I am not mistaken.

Nothing wrong with taking a few mins to install it if you want to be extra sure.

By yourself + online = exposed
By yourself + steam offline = safe(ish)
by yourself + t7 patch with no passwrod = less safe, some crash exploits etc still possible
by yourself + t7 patch with password = safe

Honestly just get the patch, it fixes all of the menu stutters too

the patch no longer works, the dev gave up on it after the servers were compromised, only way to play the game now is playing it offline unfortunately

Do not listen to this person. The T7 Patch creator came out very recently and says that it is still completely safe to use and protects you.

What I’d like to know is how exposed am I if I play BO3 without the T7 patch solo? It was stated above that there are risks to playing BO3 solo without the patch. How bad are these risks if you don’t mind me asking? Does this mean hackers can RCE me remotely without even needing to be in my lobby? Or is it only remote crashes/DDOS attacks?

The RCE exploits were said to be fixed so you won't have that to worry about. Apparently the mod maker says there is some risk being without the patch because the game always needs an internet connection to work. I personally think this is overblown but at the same time maybe it's worth considering and the mod is very easy to install. I installed it on Linux, if you are on Linux too then just make sure you have WinRar installed so you can un zip the file but you need to have Wine installed so you can install WinRar all together but if you're on windows then it's a slightly more stream lined process.

rce exploit was fixed, aka virus that takes control of ur pc. any 1 saying its unsafe or said exploit is still around is only spreading fear and misinformation.

You are just as safe playing any game as you are just being on line. These posts are comming from dumb azzes who believe all they read on internet, and even better believe all the money making you tube videos the losers watch all day. again You are just as safe playing any game as you are just being on line. If you want to download third party patches or software , go for it but remember there is probibly a bigger open door on third party stuff then the game its self...

How exposed am I if I play solo offline (offline in the game, not steam) with the patch, BUT without a network password? My understanding is that the password is only needed if playing with others but I could be wrong.

I use the patch for the performance fixes mostly.
