Your NAT type will not magically make other players play other game modes. It is just a sad fact that everyone in COD games gravitate towards only 1 or 2 game modes. Everyone in BO3 is playing TDM or DOM.
Some of us in some regions - like Europe - can get games in other modes like Kill Confirmed and Safeguard, but it seems this is an isolated phenomenon. It is not the case with many other regions in the world.
An Open NAT can connect to all three Open, Moderate, and Strict, Moderate to only Moderate and Open, and Strict can only connect to Open, so Open gives more chances to join others, or even host if a server offloads to UDP.
