well, as you may know, cheating in online games isn't just a personal business, unless you have sufficient IQ to perceive this fact. it can ruin other people's enjoyment if done in MP by using aimbots, wallhacks and such. for some players, it can also completely break the fun of grinding in zombies, if somebody decides to alter stats without consent (like in the case of OP). if you call people who are disturbed by such things as "toxic", the first thing they could think of would be you're also a cheater; so they might go to your steam profile to check if the assumption is true or false.
