Why does this game use so much RAM?
I have 8 GB, I get random FPS lags at beginning of every map for like a minute or two, has to do something with 7.5 GB of my RAM being filled, 6 GB of which is this game. Lots of other games, with better graphics and texture quality dont do this, whats wrong?

Games are starting to use ram like that, probably because the consoles have more to play with. ram usage isnt about what textures look better or even just graphics, thats more to do with vram.

Because its badly optimised for PC
Ram usage is about 3.75 -4GB for me after 6-10 hours playing...

Did you guys even read the minimun requirements? It asks for 6GB, sure it uses about 4.5 for me personally, but 6GB is the minimum that they ask for

Could you guys post your specs and the settings you are running the game on possibly? Would help so much! Thanks!

I have 32Gb DDR4 Ram, but yes in Task Manager after hours and hours of playing Ram never gets above 4Gb...ever.

2- Seagate Hybrid SSHD 2Tb w/8Gb flash (for programs and gaming)

LG Blu-Ray RW
Corsair CX750Watt 80 Plus Bronze Modular
Apevia X-4 Dreamer Mid Tower with 5x120mm case fans and 1x200mm side case fan

BenQ X2720Z 27" 100/120/144hz 1ms Gaming Monitor G-Sync
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Razer Deathadder Chroma 10,000 dpi Gaming Mouse
ASUS RT-AC68R AC1900 Router fully configured
HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset

One thing, I heavily modified the game's config file, reduced a ton of rendering and texturing
which quite frankly, isn't need for a FPS game.

Capped FPS in config to 5 frames below native resolution set it to 139FPS.

My page file is also set to 8Gbs as well, so if I look in Nvidia Control Panel it says total Ram available for video 14Gbs...with 6 dedicated.

Yeah and I also read you can run on 1GB ATI 6970 or similar. I bet you can't.
you can, but you can't guarantee that it'll run at 1080p/60fps on that graphics card. It's the minimum, so you might be able to do either 720p/30 or 60fps
If you Google Search, you will not find anywhere what Treyarch considers recommended specs for BO3, only minimum...do it, see what you find...nothing. They did this intentionally, so they wouldn't scare away the potential buyers of this for PC. I personally feel minimum for this game is garbage at best, and likely recommended is much higher than most gamers want to know....

Okay I have GTX 970, 8 GB DD3 and FX 8320, Win 7 64 bit. How is it that your game only uses 4 GB or RAM? I also have done that fix to limit the amout of VRAM for GTX 970's problem and it has worked. But this RAM thing I dont know what to do about.
