Is it safe to play this online in 2024?

I can't seem to find a clear answer in the discussions.

Do I need to install something to prevent people from running malware on my computer and other such nonsense or has that been completely fixed? I know they fixed it, but has that been bypassed by the cheaters?

What is T7 and how does it even work? Won't something like that just trigger VAC and get me a ban on my record?

The T7 patch won't get you banned they don't monitor this game at all anymore. You don't need it at all to play it, People can't hack into computers anymore or use RCE Exploits anymore those got patched in May. Still alot of cheaters and i really wouldn't be playing public games at all

meh, the worst part is the 175G install just to play multiplayer.

All these other COD games have multiplayer as a separate install.

The player base for the multiplayer mode has pratically died recently.
This game is to be bought only if you're interested in the zombie mode.

I would just play with t7 to be safe, it allows u to change your name at any time and you get infinite gobblegums so its overall just helpful.

Just playing online regularly isn't safe and never will be safe.

YOU HAVE to use a custom fan client to be sure. Most of us either use T7 Custom Patch or BOIII Client. T7 Custom Patch is good if you just want to play regular BO3 or BO3 with friends with some improvements. But BOIII Client is a MUST HAVE to play on actual dedicated servers, it also comes with every fix for stuttering, exploits, etc.

There's plenty of guides on getting it working. I personally use Rxqe's guide as a stepping stone.

you dont need to download any of these clients like junior over there is talking about. I have been playing public zombies a lot and not once has anything happened. it's as safe as any other online game is in todays world. the only people i've come across are ones who have modded themselves to max level and infinite gobblegums
