Edit: in light of tweets by momo5502 and shiversoftdev on the 2nd of July, 2023, you’re only safe online from future RCE exploits after the March update if you’re using the t7patch while having a network password set and only sharing the password with trusted people.

It depends on what you mean by “safe” in this context.
If you mean safe from having hackers gain access to your PC through (edit: the patched) RCE exploits, then yes, you’re safe, as these have been patched back in March.
If you mean safe from getting booted offline, getting crashed, getting your IP leaked, getting DDoSed; then no, you aren’t safe without extra precautions. These precautions being: hiding your Steam ID to prevent getting crashed and getting booted offline, using the t7patch to also prevent getting crashed and booted offline, and using a VPN to spoof your IP and prevent getting DDoSed.

To add, playing Multiplayer risks your IP and Steam ID getting leaked. Also note that public matchmaking is broken with the t7patch.

If you ask me if you should worry, I’d say not really unless the hackers have a reason to target you, for example if you’re a streamer or a popular YouTuber.
This is for BO3. I’m unsure of the situation of the previous games, but I’d say to use Plutonium as much as possible.

Important question am i safe playing BO 3 offline (for example customs zombies offline solo). Or am i still at risk by just booting the game itself?
