BOIII CLIENT HACKED
The BOIII client has been completely hacked. DO NOT install it. The creator has just tweeted that the BOIII client getting popular is not his and contains security risks.

Merk's video is not correct. Do not install any bit of BOIII

Edit: Do not install BOIII as a server hoster. refer to the answer I've highlighted for more info.

I know for a fact that there are vulnerabilities in the BOIII client. The vulnerabilities only affect *server hosters*. Regular players are not at risk whatsoever.

EZ client, as scummy as they are, did fix the old security concerns by using the newest version of the security dll, meaning all that is left is much more complicated exploits that very few people understand/can leverage.

The worst thing that clients will deal with is remote crashes, which is the same issue that regular BO3 has. Momo never implemented all the fixes I sent him, which means tons of the simple exploits that attackers used still work.

The issue is semantics. People define "safe" as different things.

For the BOIII CLIENT (Official and EZ only):

Can people install malware or run remote code on your machine: No

Can people obtain your IP address remotely: Yes

Can people crash you remotely: Yes


For the BOIII SERVER HOSTERS (Official and EZ only):

Can people install malware or run remote code on your machine: Yes

Can people obtain your IP address remotely: Obviously, you are a server

Can people crash you remotely: Yes

For other versions of the BOIII servers (outside of official or EZ), it is exceptionally easy to run remote code. EZ and official BOIII servers are slightly harder to run code on, but are still *relatively easy to run code on*.

The community dedicated servers downloaded through steam tools are 100% unpatched to the old RCE method and attackers can easily install malware through them.

I just mainly want to play the single player story mode and/or zombies is all with my group of 2 others; not interested in online or ranked for that matters, just private matches are fine in regard to these issues right?

Mate just download a patch I literally play this game nothing happens but it is true that it is hacked but what are these chances

lol its the same as steam bo3 and ur saying hacked like if someone can hack ur whole ♥♥♥♥, there are mod tools that allow them to kick you and boot you of, or get your ip etc, if you play zombies dont worry that wont happen to u, if you play mp there are once ina while people like this but its as easy to not be hacked as when you see someone hacking or with colored name just leave. bruh but therre arent even people who do it just for fun or idk what u mean bcs I play it the whole time from the start of the client and I never met someone who did smth like that and not even one teammate was kicked ever so idk people say that is crazy bad tha you will play once and your life will end but thats really not the case :DDDDDDD

Idk if someone booted me but I was just playing zombies offline and got connection interrupted if that can even happen while playing offline.

Errm that doesn't do anything. Your still connected to steam servers and background connections are still active even when your offline in BO3 lex commented about this and tweeted I think
