is the game safe to play now?

i recently read about bo3 and the hack it got, it is safe to play now or still prone to vulnerabilities

What hack have you heard about? People closing your game, unlocking your achievements or modifying your ingame level? Well, thats nothing new.

Just play either private matches with trusted friends or solo if you're planning to play zombies. Online matches for MP and ZM are usually hard to find, at least in my experience. There could potentially be hackers/modders still floating around, mainly due to the lack of support from Activision.

ive played a couple matches in multiplayer and so far have run into only 1 hacker. He was just using an aimbot cheat and i simply just left. I also noticed a lot of new players and im a new player as well, got a bunch of steam cards for christmas and it was on sale so yunnow. Any way i think you should be relatively safe just leave if theres a cheater. However there is still the performance problem from the steam update so your probably not going to get a very stable frame-rate at 60+ fps

i meant the part where your account details get grabbed by just playing the game, not those kinds of hackers, this thing came on about in september

im going to be honest its what i heard, i have no idea what the hell is going on since not many people are talking about it, this was a big issue in september, but may have died down, apparently your IP got grabbed, not new, but was a big part of it, and then apparently your account details were compromised too, but i searched on youtube, reddit and steam and found little about this stuff :/

Okay well, there's quite a difference between grabbing the IP and grabbing account details. I don't think such a hack exists. Nobody can grab your account details, if people could do that, than it would be a massive security flaw in steam, and not just bo3.

Keep in mind that the IP grabbing exists since day one, because every players IP is shown by the game through the voice chat channel. There's nothing you can do about it, and you don't even need to hack the game to see other players IP adresses, just basic networking programs. You can play with a VPN if you don't like that.

It basically does exist. Look up "remote code execution". This game is most definitely vulnerable and the exploit has been used by multiple people on it.

Yeah, sure thing. The rce in bo3 is people crashing your game or doing annoying ingame stuff, like changing your account level.

But again, this is, far, far away from gaining account access LoL. Feel free to show some proof on that.

Looked like someone got angry and started broadcasting player's IP addresses in the chat box. I didn't stick around too long.

I don't have proof other than I saw it happen but I can already see you aren't very educated at all if you think modifying stats or crashing people's games has ANYTHING to do with RCE lmao
