BO3 Running hot?
Ok, just to make sure... i just playd MW3 and Ghost.. GPU is right around 48-55c in those games. When I play BO3, I'm hitting 80c?? Anyone else? I have a liquid CPU (i7 6950X) GTX 1080. Is it the new drivers by chance?

its because the game needs a lot more resources of the gpu, so it gets hotter.
but 80c are weird, my r9 380 sits at around 59c while playing this game. maybe it really is like the older GTX 480 card, which was srsly wayyy to hot

I dont think it should be running at 80c though?

Thats a lot hotter than it should be, you should be sitting at 40 - 60. Try cleaning out your computer, like, dust and whatnot, there might be something stuck in some fans, or if that doesn't work, circulation may be a problem, and if your room is hot, so will your GPU. And if all else fails, try to download latest drivers or downgrade to a previous version if this is recent.

Hope this helps. If everything else is not the problem, your hardware just might be failing, so you might wanna replace your card, unfortunately, or have a professional take a look at it.

Basing this off of my card which quite normally sits at 50 - 55 celsius when under load and 35 - 40 idle.

ya 80 seems high. Mabe remove the side of the case and run like that with a fan pointing at the open case. Your case might not be well ventilated.

Oh, I forgot to mention, try capping your framerate if its uncapped, because it can run hotter when the GPU renders 2x or 3x the frames that are needed. Try capping it to 60 fps and see if that helps.

I'm having the same problem. It just showed after I installed this DLC. I run an i5 4690k and a GTX 980ti. I've never had cooling or frame rate issues with this game, but the map Revelations and the MP maps run hot and frames are bad. And I already installed the new drivers also. To put it into perspective I run Witcher 3 at mid range temps and at 60 frames this shouldn't be a problem.

wait ur 1080gtx runs at 50-55 °C under load ? at which clock speed and whats the
manufacturer of this card ?
last time i checked all reviews about different customs it was pretty normal 1080 runs this hot (except u change ur default vent settings or u have a hybrid card. even hybrid cards dont run at 50°C under load)

my default vent settings wait every time till 75°C then vent speed will increase. if u dont chage it, its normal these cards run hot. @2088mhz my evga runs at 70°C with over 80% vents (which is a lot) how is it possible ur card runs so much cooler? and no its not my airflow in my pc

edit: jused checked my last info and cards like asus strix, gigabyte g1 and msi all have 70°C+ under load without max oc
dont know for other customs but my evga starts to downclock after 85°C. 80°C is hot but not this bad as many people think (1080gtx)
