Unable to join friend on custom maps

Hello.
So I have been having problems connecting to a friends game on peer to peer, which was reflected by his NAT type being 'moderate' on Bo3. But since him enabling demonware port mapping, his NAT type became open and we were able to connect to each other in private games. But on custom maps, when both of us had the map installed, we were unable to connect to each other. After the game loaded, the host would find that they were in the map by themselves, and the person joining would be kicked soon after.

Both of us have NAT type open, enabled demonware port mapping, and both of us verified the game cache before we started playing.

I'm at a wits end, does anyone know of anything that we could do? I think the problem is on his end as I am able to p2p connect to other players, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was also on my end.

It was because of my router. I had my ISP issue a new one and it fixed the issue.
