To answer your first question, yes force quitting (ALT+F4) the game does save your gobblegums. Now on to your other question. You will NOT get gateworm if you force quit (ALT+F4) after completing an easter egg. You must END the game by pausing and pressing END GAME or by dying in the actual game. It's is the truth because I myself tried to end a few easter eggs by force quitting and then when I restarted the game, I got no gateworm.

Everything saves if you ALTF4. Just gateworm and rounds (if you make a new record on a map) dont save.

It is actually possible to get the gateworm if you force quit. Just play until the next round after easter egg completion and everything will be saved.
