keyboard and controller switching back and forth

in menus ill be using my controller and the buttons that show on screen change from keyboard controls than to controller controls and back and forth and i think this is causing my issue in game, also clicking start opens menu and closes it right after pressing. in game using right analog stick stops and works stops and works. and yes i know i should be using keyboard and mouse because its pc but i still want to use my ps4 controller for it so if anyone knows how to fix this please tell me. NOTE - i have a really good pc that i built so its not a hardware issue, also everything is up to date.

Doesn't work, every time I click one button it changes to keyboard controls and when I click something again it changes back, it just does this over and over again. I checked all of my drivers and they are up to date. I even verified cache and it didn't resolve the problem. It works fine on other cods though so I don't know the issue could be. Also i would like to point out that when i use keyboard and mouse i have 0 issues

Go into steam big picture mode then disable your controller. When you boot up the game re-enabled the controller through the in game menu. Steam is trying to force steam controller bindings onto your controller.

How do i disable the controller?

Go into big picture. go into settings then controller settings and uncheck the PS4 configuration support.

yo pcprod assist... i was wondering how you enable the controller through the in game menu? there is no option to enable it in the menu

I agree; apparently there are no in-game settings regarding enabling/disabling of controllers. I have no idea for a solution if your problem is the exact same as the creator of this topic, but if you're just asking for help to be able to use your PS4 controller in BO3, then you can try activating it through steam big picture mode. you can check the video below to see how it's done (between 1:00 - 1:45 if you wish to save time). btw, it looks like connecting the PS4 controller with micro-USB cable is needed for this activation method.
