Moon Excavator Glitch (help please)

I have tried doing the Moon easter egg 2 times and both times I've had this unfortunate problem that I can only assume is unintentional. The Excavator comes to dig tunnel 11, and before giving it the chance, I hack it and regain control. The excavator returns to its original postion, however, the lights are still flashing on it, and another excavator never comes, which makes the easter egg impossible because I need another one to come and dig tunnel 6. This is exrtremely inconvinent and honestly it makes me not want to hack any excavators anymore for fear that my easter egg attempt will be ruined a 3rd time. If anyone has a solution to this glitch, or theres a bit of info im not aware of, please comment and help me out. Thanks.

dont save any dig tunnels?

Just restart the game until tunnel 6 is the first one to go, and then don't deal with it again

Yeah, Moon is just one big Rng mess to beat the easter egg, especially on solo. Just gotta get lucky with tunnel 6
