Unlocking Special Weapons

Is there any way to unlock weapons beyond BUYING them? I can see that there's an M1 Garand and an M16 and FAL in the weapon list but they're locked as Classified?

Those are literally the only two weapons I give any portion of a♥♥♥♥♥♥about in this entire game seeing as how it's all boring, near-future nonsense otherwise.

Not to mention the MP-40 or the AK-74, which is not a submachine gun in any sense of the word, but is listed as an SMG in game for some reason.

the mp40 is a smg and it's ak74-U which is also a smg, there are no ak-47 in the game..

the only way to unlock the special weapons are to either buy CODpoints for real money or grind lots of cryptokeys from playing matches to buy supply drops but other than that, you cant choose what weapons you can get from a box, the best droprate for weapons, camos etc is a rare box..
GL farming those tho, each rare box cost 30 keys and you get an everage 1-4 keys per match depending on your score and if win or lose..

It may have been a coincidence, but when I max prestiged all my primary weapons in a category (including some classifieds) I had a new weapon in the first box I opened, after months of opening without any weapon at all. Go for it!

Exactly, just play the game and grind out crypto keys in matches and perform Black Market daily and weekly challenges. So I see you missed activating the Grand Slam in Black Market, these are also ways to eventually get weapons and camo bribes for gear without duplicates.

With normal supply drop crates. you cannot pick and chose anything you want, it is entirely random and no guarantee of not getting a duplicate weapon by opening these traditional Common or Rare Drop.

AK-74 would refer to any AK-74, including the U. I am aware that there isn't an AK-47 in this game, which is why I didn't mention an Ak-47 at all. Besides, if there were another AK in the game, it would probably be like an AKM or something.

And the AK-74 is not an SMG. It fires a rifle caliber round, not a pistol cartridge, which is one of the defining characteristics of an SMG: it's chambered in a pistol caliber.

Damn. I can't even do that because nobody even plays the game anymore. I just want the weapons for single-player since that's all I bother with. None of the CoD's with jetpacks or special moves have ever had fun multiplayer though, which I guess is why I can find more active players on CoD4 than I can on Black Ops III.

Like, it says "80%" of players in playlist, but since it literally can't ever find me a game, I can only take it to mean that there are only as many as 10 people online at once anyway.

The other versions such as, well just an example: "74-A, B ,C etc doesn't make it a rifle.... well sure it isn't an smg either but a carbine and that isn't a rifle either even though most carbines uses rifle rounds aswell..
Well i think the reason they put the ak-74U in the smg section might be bcoz it looks like an smg instead.


Well alot of people still play the game... BUT most of them are playing zombies instead bcoz MP has just become such a bullcrap fest with horrible lag, ping issues, lag compensation and some really really wierd hit markers.

I play daily evenings with clan mates and friends and weekends all weekend long. I wouldn't have almost 2400 hours If I couldnt find matches to play. You have like one weekend of gameplay and expect to receive all weapons.....are you trolling?

I've been on from afternoon to evening to late night on weeknights and weekending nights and not had much luck. Even if I did have luck, it would be for core deathmatch. Ew.

No, I expect to be able to earn all of the weapons. Not pay for them, or hope that I get them in a random loot drop. That's not rewarding, that's exploitative. That's not earning, that's gambling. You are gambling your time or money in the hopes that you get something you want, which you probably won't, because otherwise how would they keep you buying? It's not only immoral, but also just frustrating to know that I could play the game for ten thousand hours and still not get the weapons I'm interested in just because the dice roll said so. Not to mention it has to be multiplayer.

Wanting to use a WWII weapon in a present day or near future setting is hardly unreasonable? Especially because THEY ARE IN THE GAME ALREADY, I'm not just asking for something that doesn't exist as if they can just mod guns into the game.

I'm surprised nobody in the story uses some old school gun in 30-06 for some kind of meme stopping power reason, like they think modern intermediate caliber firearms lack the killing power of an old school, heavy round with a big, powerful cartridge behind it. I mean they already got baldy over here saying "Train go boom" every five minutes as if that's going to become the next "Press F to pay respects", they might as well have some chick who carries around a BAR just because

But they all still show up in the weapons list in the singleplayer armory. Are you saying even if I unlocked them I couldn't use them? What ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
