Is player count for zombies low? Should I get Chronicles on PS4 instead?

Own the game on both platforms and play with kb/m on PS4 (XIM4) as well. Of course I prefer PC over PS4, but I don't want to play on PC if the population is terrible.

You're MUCH better off just buying it for PS4 imo, there are WAY more players and (from what I know) dedicated servers.

It's not like on the consoles. PC will always have a much lower player base for BO3. There are a lot fo reasons for that.
Having said that I don't find any issues finding Zombies games. However, this is the summer and whther or not this will continue come Sept. is another story.
You may have some waiting for players here and there, some maps are hardly if ever played anymore. Season Pass maps is almost 0 most of the time. SoE is played a lot and so is Kino. Most played map is Origins.

well most players are playing ZC now, almost none on the standard maps, but i do suggest to wait to get it since the ZC maps have some big issues right now.
Like crashing,huge fps drops or some buggs that makes the map unplayable, specially with origins as like 50% of the time the game either crash without errors or 1 of the staffs becomes unavaible and cant be picked up again when doing the ee step to place it inside the robots.
