There is an announcement that explains how to disable this DLC and any DLC by extention.
You do end up getting kicked every time a DLC map is hosted, however.

i tried to disable the dlc. that worked fine. but disabling it doesnt uninstall the 18 gb files.

Have you tried clearing your download cache?

could you direct me where this folder exists. I am unable to find it.

I don't mind using the dlc maps for the trial period because most people will be playing it anyways but after the trial is over I would want to know how to clear that 18gb space for future use.

the issue here is clearing up Hard Disk Space of 18gb after the free peroid of the dlc map expires not How To Clear Up My Hard Disk by Using An External.

In your steam client, select Steam - > Settings -> Downloads and select the "Clear Download Cache" option.

yes i found that out earlier today and I am unsure if I should use that because I am downloading other steam games that are still active and those files might get deleted.

and I already have downloaded the free BO3 map pack (all 18.5 gb) and played it yesteday so clearing Cache might not work at all. I think its fine for the free month but my only real concern is that if and how I can ever remove it once the free trial peroid expires .
