Xbox one controller not working

HI. So i wanted to use my xbox one controller to play black ops 3 but the game doesnt let me navigate menus with it or use the right analog stick when ingame.

I think it's something to do with steam big picture mode remapping your controller. check it out.

Steam is attempting to remap the xbox controller to a steam controller layout.

A workaround is to disable controllers in steam big picture mode and when in game enable controllers through the BO3 menus.

Ofc it has disadvantages but what he is saying is that pc is open so you can feel free to use whatever you want

what i did with my controller is i opened the game with the big picture mode then went onto controller configurations and chose the browse layouts, then i chose show addional controllers then i browsed the templates then selected the controller i use eg: 360 controller, see if that helps if any of that makes sense :)

Hey so I had this problem too. After looking throught this form I realized how to fix it. First open Big Picture then on the top right click settings. Under controller go to controller settings. Uncheck the box whether you have a PS4 or Xbox One controller. That should fix the problem. Steam tries to make your controller act like a keyboard and that why it doesnt work.
