The game won't start even if run as administrator

I guess there are a lot of unlucky folks like me, maybe something will be done if they see more ppl with this problem. And if they don't fix it, well there's always a refund option.

Seems that the problem is with GameLauncher.bat file. It quits before it can launch the game. And it doesn't add needed entries to the windows registry.

If I were you, I'd avoid mentioning such things on the forums. Contact the support instead.
Just a friendly reminder :)

Did you try running the game in compatibility-mode for WinXP (SP3)?
Did you try the other compatability-options (desktop-design etc.)?

Echelon didn't have too many problems with Windows, may be it's just too old for your shiny new GPU :)

Same problem here (Win 8.1 64bit):

Running Windows 7 Script
ERROR: Access is denied.

... and I tried also the XP compatibility mode - nothing - all I can see is some kinnd of a small "launcher" that gives me only 1 option: "Exit" ... no "Play" button.

Found a solution - my mistake was to use the "game.exe" instead of using the "GameLauncher.bat" - right clicking on GameLauncher.bat, Run as Administrator
and all works fine - hope that helps.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me.

Windows 7 - 64 bit - and the GameLauncher.bat appears to fail, never gets far enough to set registry settings and start the game.

I have same issue too.
Running game as Administrator not helps.

У меня игра работает на Windows 8.1 x64. Наверное это зависит от видеокарты ( у меня Nvidia).

I am also having the same problem. My system is updated and stable; however, the game will not run even after multiple attempts. I have tried to run the game.exe and the gamelauncher.bat files, BOTH as an administrator and, both in all forms of compatibility modes (from Win95-WinXPsp3). Like others, I can see some title screens upon startup, but then it kicks me out to a small launcher window that only allows me to exit the game. Please help....anyone!

Same specs and and failed attempts.

The post from SuperJet translates to "try lowering the screen resolution to 1024x768. still an old game already 2001". Tried that with no luck. Still just get the EXIT window. I've been lurking around this and another similar thread. Hopefully someone will have a solution.

That's too bad Elvis; I feel your pain. And I hear the fact that it is old game (SuperJet and others). I just figured that they had revamped it thoroughly or they wouldn't be re-releasing such an old game just to be incompatible with anything new. The fact that it is old--and that I used to own it back in the day--is exactly why I bought it for $4.00 through Steam. So anyway...to me, it would be illogical to assume that the game is "just too old to run".....since it is a re-release of an old game.

Hopefully they will just go ahead and fix this bug so we can all relive the pixelated glory that was, Echelon. My joystick yearns.....but even if it's not compatible, I'll play with a mouse for 4 bucks! Just, at LEAST let me do that! ;)
