I hate this game with a passion now (stuck on "I - Abyss" Tile Puzzle...or whatever it is)
I'm stuck on a a point in the game where you are using your shield to direct a laser at these tiles or whatever in order to...I don't know. To be honest, I have no freakin' clue what I'm suppose to be doing and the solution. There's no visual clues on how to operate the puzzle. Nothing. Do I line up the red...lines...lasers...in those...holes? Highlight certain tiles so it matches the example pattern below it? I mean COME ON! Somebody give me a simple understanding on how this puzzle works! Not even a video walkthrough helped since the one who posted it had already figured out the solutions to two of those things and then edited it to the point where he/she was close to solving the last one. UGH!

Developers, here's a little piece of advice. Two kinds of puzzle: One where you're provided a basic idea of its mechanics with visual clues. Then the other kind where you are given nothing to work with except random luck. I would appreciate more of the former and NONE of the latter, please.

So anyone got a solution? A simple understanding of how this puzzle works? I'd even welcome a response from the developers since they designed this crypitic enigma.

You have to highlight the blocks as seen on the pattern below. One panel makes the horizontal lasers active, other one makes the vertical lasers active. You use shield to flip the little mirror blocks.

We've added a "ghost" trail of where the laser will be reflected. It will be included in the upcoming update and should make the puzzle easier to mess around with and fun again. Sorry for your frustration!

When both devices are off, there's a light beam coming from the ceiling. Directing that light beam on those box things will switch their orientations. (from "/" to "\" and vice-versa)

The little schematic in the background shows squares that are lit and others that are not.
When you turn on one of the two devices, the beam must light up the same squares that are lit in the schematic and must also not pass through where the squares are dark in the schematic.
You must do this for the left and right device 3 times (so, 6 puzzles to replicate in total).

The really horrible thing is (and one of my con if I ever write a review) is that, if you're using a gamepad, you should switch to mouse+keyboard just for this segment, because the analog stick is way too sensitive and doing the puzzle requires to not move your aim once you activate your shield, so that -- if you accidently aim the beam on a box you didn't want to flip -- you can quickly deactivate and reactivate your shield to put it back in the position you want (and then nudge your aim a little toward where you want the beam to hit).

<edit> I was too late! :P
That's great news, adding the ghost trail will really help!

One problem though: Even with keyboard+mouse control, it's nigh on impossible for me to avoid inadvertently hitting a tile I never meant to switch. And since its also hard to know which tile was flipped because they're too small to see (you really have to squint and watch to see which direction they've flipped), that makes it even harder.

Ghost trails won't help. Maybe find some way to make aiming the laser less cumbersom or maybe place the tiles so they're not so close together or something.

I actually gave up with this puzzle since I did not understand how to accomplish the pattern with the mirrors being placed as they were; I did not see a way to light up only the highlighted squares with the way the mirrors were placed. Aiming without the trail did also not help at all.

Do both of the beams count? As in are they "on" while not active or does one of them need to be active and pass through the highlights or what?

yes ugly puzzle i spend to much time on this puzzle.
But there is no way to turn off the light coming from the left handside....there are 3 beams that always come down vertically, but I cant turn the left beam off, so I will never be able to have the puzzle lit like the example shown in the little window.
Ah! It's using EITHER the horizontal or vertical lines, not both.
Im completely stumped on the 5th one....the 3rd vertical puzzle...any help?
Oh. My. God.....it doesn't save after each puzzle....DO NOT TURN OFF THE GAME UNTIL YOU SOLVE ALL 6......ARRRRGH!

Okay don't know if it's a bug or not ...
When i light the tile, the graphic doesn't change, the behavior does though ... took me a while and this thread to understand what was going on ...

OP you are provided with visual clues - there is a box about the same size as your character that shows you which areas need to be lit up on the grid for each of the two control pillars, you even state this yourself. Yes it's difficult to fiugure out - just keep trying and picture in your mind what tiles change the beam which way. I've only manged two so far myself.

I found the ghost trails help a lot, they show you exactly which tile you will flip, and should easily hewlp you avoid hitting the wrong one. I'm not sure how someone above found the tiles too small to see? Are you playing on a t.v from across the room thats makes them so small? Don't forget you can direct the light beam to the left (by bouncing off the shiny wall plate) as well as the right - this makes it easier to hit the ones you want :-)

Not a bug - the graphic is your target pattern that you need tro achieve. The bahaviour changes based on the direction the tiles/mirrors are facing.

Hello from 2023, to everyone who gets this far in the game and eventually finds its way to this thread:
- There's only 4 puzzle stages now, so I guess the devs know how frustrating it is
- The key is to *avoid* lighting the black tiles; and yes, lighting the white ones. It doesn't matter how much the tile is lit, if the laser visits the tile, it's lit.
- A simple solution for the devs would have been to show the tiles that are wrong somehow, as the puzzle (still) stands it's rather obtuse.

Hello from end of September 2023.
Sadly this puzzle made me give up on this quite cool game. I just can't figure this puzzle out.
The controlls (no matter if keyboard+mouse or joypad) are simply too sensitive and I get no indicator of what in the world am I doing. :(
Switching the panels back and forth after lightning one block is simply tedious.
My way is sadly ending on this puzzle. :(
