Can't understand the game ending.
The ending of this game fails to provide a good explanation for the entire game plot, which is somewhat disappointing.

Maybe it was all a dream and that was the heart of the person you play as in this game. I gotta agree with you though idk whats happening in terms of plot this all seems so abstract.

I think it's quite literal in its interpretation - the space is alive, and you are in the belly of the beast. This same idea can be seen in similar media. You are watched, taunted, and threatened throughout your entire journey. The stone people watching TV felt like a small commentary on reality, but in the context of the environment it's in.... to me, it felt as though we think we are observing and experiencing this place only to realize it is the one observing us, and we are thus "consumed" by it and used to further its goals. What those goals are, what the point of it is, what it even is in the first place? No idea. Up to your interpretation. You are pushed further into the "beast", never given any chance to escape. The whispers, the screams, all haunts of those who've met the same fate. Make of that what you will. I am drawing my own conclusions here, so I could be far off from what was intended. I think it far more likely that the intent was for everyone to walk away and let the impression made define itself.

That is a nice one. Every player have his own experience and iteration of the lore based on that.

It’s great to see you guys creating your own stories around the Lore. 💙

I played through the other POOLS game, and in one of the levels you are walking through one of the stairwells and there are some openings, and inside of them is a giant living tube, like a giant vein... I like to think this level of the backrooms is alive, and it itself is the entity which is why there aren't really any other entity's around. Also explains why all the void areas make some creature like noises...

I agree with your idea. This space may be alive, but I think this space is independent of the real universe and may be a pocket dimension. It is built or generated by malicious cosmic entities and is a clumsy imitation of our world. Moreover, there must always be some unlucky person who has to go in and clean, while the owner has to supervise whether the work is done carefully. 😉

I think you may have to insert the reason why the protagonist came to this place in the subsequent chapters.

Doesn't the noise at the end imply that your character is in a hospital somewhere and his heart is finally failing? So all he saw were things from his life while he was dying? At least that's what I see. Pretty sad though.

That actually seems like it might be the intent given that the game's description itself says that some of what you encounter represents parts of the protagonist's life-story.

Which would imply that the Backrooms are a place between life-and-death, and is the physical representation of seeing your life flash before your eyes, a place you physically manifest within during the dying process and the reason you can never leave is because the only way out is to die in the outside world.

This is the best interpretation of the Backrooms that I’ve ever read.

I was hoping there would be 2 endings. The large spiral staircase is the point of no return. If you go down and continue, you're forced to go that route if you go past a certain point. Going up seems like it's not finished, because of the construction signs there. Depending which direction you choose would decide the players fate.
