Where is this recipe learned, can learn ingots but not nuggets, why there is multiple convoluted refining is beyond me.

You smelt caspilrite ore for copper nuggets. You can also get them rarely from smelting asherite ore.

all ores share the same smelting recipe. If its not automatically putting it into the recipe you'll have to drag it into the box

The Copper ingot schematic can be purchased from either the Armorsmith or Weaponsmith trainer.

The nuggets are processed at the smelter mostly from caspirilite ore through mining. I think those strange green ores found deep in goblin caves and in upper HC also provide them.
