Necromancer - pet question

While i am sure by now it is 'known' but is it something that will change at some point? That being that the Necromancer pet template when viewing the pet is a summoner pet and while cosmetically it does not really matter - it MAY be impacting the ability for Skeleton pets to be equipped with Leg and foot armor. While mob skeletons can drop leg and foot armor the pets can not be equipped with any. Just curious.
