Deffo. Funny thing is, they did this with Everquest about 2-3 years after launch (Luclin?), did a character models update to "more realistic" versions. I disabled most of them because I liked the blocky ones better (or was just more used to my round, goofy troll and couldn't stand the "new" pot-bellied version).
With so many things to fix and do it the game you think the top priority is a minor graphical improvement for the developers. Not like they are sitting around doing nothing in their life's.
And if you read up on the development plans you would realize there is an extremely high chance that it will be dramatically different then what we see now.
So please keep your pants on and show some patience as you effectively agreed to the fact it was still in active development when you made 'your' decision to purchase it.
On the same page as you on that point.
But if MMORPGs like the indie Project Gorgon (not talking about it's quality) has survived all these years since coming to Steam in 2018, then there is no real justification for Pantheon to disappear, unless the developers really screw up.
But as you point out, it is a genuine worry seeing how many others have failed or developers walk away when things get difficult.
Don't expect final fantasy level models after, but they will be a significant improvement, from what I've heard.
