Correct me if I'm wrong but I do recall Joppa saying controller support would be great and it's something they would support later.
Support here meaning allowing controller mapping to happen. But I think for now we're stuck with third party hack-ins. Which frankly can be perfectly fine sometimes. I've only really had trouble with those on first person shooters.
Unless they play on super-easy mode all the time?
How do you handle when different games assign different functions to different keys on your controller?
Would not the skills to adapt also apply to keyboard/mouse?
And one needs a fair amount of finger dexterity to use a game-pad type controller. I find the mouse clicking easier then having to repeatedly move my thumb and finger all the time.
But whatever works :)
A controller let's me play games on the couch with my dog in my lap. :D
At the end of the day, I'd rather spend time with my dog than play on my Main Rig.
Different folks, different strokes.
You can download Joy2keys and assign keyboards to your controller but honestly, it is much better on a keyboard.
Not everything has to be catered to everyone. They should only make it mouse and keyboard and make sure everything works.
I cannot even play with my dog at the same time and focus on the game with aggro mobs around every corner.
Amazing!!
