Why? are they similar to early EQ where they were a hybrid fighter with support mechanisms and so everyone views them as weak because people can only think in simple linear terms of power based on being the best at something?
Tanks are the hardest to find. Everyone and their mom is shaman, because they are well done class. Enchanters are awesome, because game is designed to need to only have 1 mob at a time, but there are other classes that can step in as baby chanter with roots/fear. This game has been more forgiving for getting into groups as dps which is nice. But you can't do anything without tank + healer. I've also had groups with cleric primary heal and shaman as offheal offdps. Worked great.
Every tank type I've been with up to 24 has been great, though nearly all have been warriors. Only had 1 dire lord, and several good paladins.
Well for some reason 80% of the ppl LFM are for dps!
Im not kidding maybe because the tanks are just cooler in the game everyone rolled a tank and you would never want a second tank in your group but you do need 3-4 dps
So my suggestion is to roll a dps or a healer
