Enchanter spells...
Hello everybody,

As a long time EQ1 Enchanter, I am interested in possibly getting the game and playing Enchanter but I have one question for those who may know - Does the Enchanter CURRENTLY have the Charm spell? I can't really find anything on the current form of the Enchanter in the game, only old versions.

Charm is not in yet but it will be... Joppa the lead dev even mentioned the intentions of a Dire Charm ability too,

They messed the chanter up badly. Rogues and Necros can mez. Shamans get haste and slow. The few spells left unique to the chanter leave the class wanting. The chanter is the weakest class though so that is the same....just weaker than EQ.
Nope no charm, it was supposed to be included with early access, but here we are going on almost 4 months in and no charm still, so who knows.
I really enjoyed playing an enchanter in EQ and EQ2, but was disappointed to find out no summoned pet for enchanters in this game. Then I thought, well if they have dire charm, that's good enough for me, but they don't have that yet. So I am not going to bother wasting time playing a gimped enchanter that is missing spells that make it fun for me.
TBH I feel like charm would be a bit tricky to implement and thus perhaps why it hasn't been yet?

If you take control over nearly any mob and it links to the run-of-the-mill pet action bar (or perhaps a new type of action bar specifically for charmed mobs) it seems like that would require some work to make perfect and avoid the handful of thermonuclear meltdowns on the message boards on patch day. 🤔🤔

I love my enchanter and feels like a very strong class in comparison to my druid or rogue.

It does not. And as an Enchanter player from EQ, I found Pantheon's enchanter to be quite disappointing. I only played the early levels, though, as I've not been motivated to keep playing.

at lvl 14 i can mez for over thirty seconds and hold down a disastrous situation of several adds, multiple stuns, silence, mana regen, etc
My main is an enchanter. I really enjoy the mezzing and other control abilities. However, I do feel like the abilities are .....underwhelming. Other classes can do massive damage or sustain massive damage....but there are SO many limits on our abilities. Mezzes drain mana even after casting them, stuns are short but the timers are long. The mana regen is pathetically low...+1...that's it? until 20 something and then its +2....Weak sauce. Mana feed is great but the cool down is WAY too long. Mana Drain is the same problem....needs to slurp more mana and have the cool down timer WAY shorter so we can actually effectivly feed mana AND mez.
I love the character class and what it is for...I don't care about not doing damage...but let us do what we are supposed to do.
