There's a team working on a private vanguard server right now. They're pretty far along.
what, "Modern" implementations?
Lol.......
The one's that don't exist.
I was a big Vanguard fan, but if you played it, you know that pantheon run 1000% better in EA than vanguard on release...
Of course Vanguard was bigger, more combat diversity, more crafts etc.... But Pantheon seems to bring new concept (Dungeon danger feeling, night/dark, climb/run wich bring more vertically maze dungeons, perception - will see what it brings-)
So ok, we can say "Modern" with brackets, but loling like there is plenty of this type of game, bringing what Pantheon bring is just a lie
About M&M, played some test, and it's more EQ and Pantheon more Vanguard for sure. From what I've experienced from now, I had better feelings with Pantheon EA than M&M tests, but will play both for sure :)
I think both are good purely for their efforts in revitalizing this genre.
Such a simple thing, fighting through an open world dungeon with a group, camping spawns. Its literally all an mmo needs and we are 20 years in to them always being lacking, instead preferring to just spam solo quests.
I wish this game had fewer quests than it does honestly. They distract from the straightforward dynamic of looking for a group and getting exp with them. Im basically holding back leveling so i can get group mob quest drops.
Bags only CR, mob tethering (though a longer leash), Bind stones, etc...
Also I think a lot of the systems we currently see (crafting included) are still in their early stages. So as it gets closer to release, we may see "more" to them as well.
From what I have gathered, they have a lot of the 1 - 30 content fairly well fleshed out (many quests, mobs, classes, etc... but some of the nuances of play with specific mob behavior, specific mechanics, etc... and obviously the raid and 30+ content is lacking due to the fact that they only had a short period to do data collection before the game sunset.
I think they mentioned they were pretty much at the end of their data collection and figuring out what they were going to do, but I don't follow it closely so I really am not in the "know".
