Best class for solo leveling?
I played a Druid in EQ because my playtime can be 20 minutes one day, or 2 hours a different day. So being able to log in, solo a camp or singles somewhere while I have the time, then log off, was go to way to play.
Weekends I'd sometimes be able to get into a group for 3-4 hours, but that wasn't very often.

Not much has changed in that regard, and I don't know whole lot about this game, other than it's supposed to be very similar to EQ.

But before I jump in and sink a bunch of time, I just wanted to hear from people who are currently playing ... how solo friendly is this game?

Which class is considered the "go to", for people who solo level 90% of the time?

Ive tried them all, they all solo pretty well, but the Paladin with a 2hander has been untouchable for me. I can solo oranges with ease, 2 yellows at a time, and so on. I couldnt even attempt that with the other classes, granted the highest I have gotten one to is 6 so far.

paladin is currently best.
Necro can do it with kiting pretty well but its more of a hassle than with paladin, you need places to run around.
Wizard at low levels is decent because it can massively nuke things down and might be good at exp rate farming easier mobs.

Some say that the summoner has some bugs that when fixed will make them best, but currently they are just 'good'. Ive heard ranger and enchanter are good but ive not tried them.

Cleric is actually apparently the strongest in terms of soloing things that are hard, but their damage output is very slow so its very bad exp. Might be a good class for solo camping nameds though.

Sup, what makes the Paladin so strong? Some players have told me their Dire Lords are stronger than the other classes they are trying. I haven't tried it out, but I found the Shaman good due to buffing utility spells, heals, and they get a pet later. The cleric has lower damage output but a great shield spell with low mana costs and keeps you safe while you wack away at the mob. Still trying all the classes and will move on to grouping.

Wizard is wonderful and i can solo stuff easily, just weave right and slow and you are good
Pally is another great tank class, it will get slower as you get higher level
DL atm is the best tank

My faves for solo are (in my opinion, only) Shaman, Dire Lord and Necromancer. I tried the Paladin but early on it seemed to lack both damage and healing. It started with just the Alt+1 attack and a laying on of hands with a 30-minute cooldown!

At mid levels . Shaman, Summoner, Dire Lord. { not sure on Necro at level 20 or higher. dont see them doing much of it.}
I see the shamans do some not much in the 20s
Summoner come into the own at level 20 . Two pets at a time One is a healer
Dire Lord Need gear its all about the gear you have.

Got my summoner to lvl 12 solo so far. Seems easy enough. I think it died once and that was because I wasn't paying attention and auto walked into a group mob.

Paladin has several different heals, using several different "resources". One is wrath, and you have attacks that increase wrath. I forget the other, but it goes up as you get hit and deal damage. Between the two you can keep yourself fully healed through a fight with two yellows. And just in case, you have another heal that you can use every 30 mins that will basically take you from almost dead to full. Later you get an AOE attack that deals DOT damage to any mob around you. Makes killing groups that much easier

Word of warning if you want to play a Shaman from the evil cave races - the shaman trainer is located apart from all the others that are grouped at the northern exit. It's in a suicidal spot for lvl 1 shamans to travel in or out of though to get anywhere, with a lot of aggro'ing mobs around. I tried to get out as a shiny, new lvl 1 and was instantly chased by two skeletons, not surprisingly slaughtered, then I appeared back at the shaman camp again!. Start a shaman from other races!!

I would say Paladin is the strongest right now, but i havent played dire lord. Shaman is good and summoner seems good, but has some bugs. Necro is good too, but i think it needs more sustain. Its more like oh i messed up let me reset the fight. I saw i guy doing cleric well too.

Paladin : You get a spell the first 3 levels (Alt+2) that makes you heal yourself BIGtime when you do damage with it. Same for the Alt+1 , it takes a half life bar from a mob on the lowest levels...

So not sure about the lack in damage and healing, its the only class that does both very good on low levels imo. :)

Ah, right, good to know! I admit it was only a quick try of the Paladin, as I tend to prefer pet classes. I must at least try to get it to level 3. 🙂

EDIT: It was my own daft fault - my Paladin WAS lvl 3, but I hadn't checked in the Book for new abilities. I must have been logging out and forgot to do so. Thanks for the heads-up. 👍

watched a paladin level 10 take on grimpaw and seemed to sustain no problem for several minutes alone... its gunna get nerfed big time, soloing yellow chevron mobs is crazy.
