This needs to happen because with otu it casuals will stop playing and the game will wither
There are solo ways to play the game, most classes can solo exp slowly if they want to. Basic things like trading with other players.
There is no reason to expect to fight even level cons, this is not even a real issue since its entirely arbitrary what counts as an even level powerlevel wise. In older mmos typically even level mobs are hard and the even con of it was for grouping and if you did solo you stuck to lower cons, then mmos changed to where even cons are what you ground on solo. This is entirely a psychological distinction. While i guess it wouldnt matter to simply shift the con colors this is the way some older mmos did it and so consider it a homage. Basically white con should be equivalent to your power level and so very challenging, this is actually realistic when you think about it. Its saying its a fair fight and so you might lose.
MMOs are about grouping and taking that away has destroyed mmo communities.
Convenience destroys community. The only trick is to not have things that feel arbitrarily punishing. This game is fairly casual as far as old school mmos go, you can already solo way more easily than the game it models itself after. The pve challenge here is far more like DAoC than EQ.
I do not believe any doomsaying, everyone in modern day is just mmo hopping because there is nothing left of soul in them, its all been convenienced away and when they find a new game they demand it become the game they have just left. Its like the trope of californians moving to other states because california sucks then trying to turn it into california (not true by the way but people know the meme). I hope the devs stick to the plan, i think they already compromised from what they should have in designing their plan, but the addictive property of old mmos is still there in this one so whatever mysterious conjunction of qualities produces that has not been killed yet.
They aught to improve the UI though
