Got any big MMO youtubers for this game yet? Solo player friendly?
Devs probably don't bother reading steam, as most companies don't. Does anyone know if this game has any major large MMO youtubers covering the game? I checked twitch and didn't see any heavy-hitters and searched around on youtube and didn't see any MMO enthusiasts of decent size maining the game.

I checked keymailer and didn't see any way to sign up to get a key and I don't have access to lurkit and as far as I know all the other sites that help connect youtubers to games have died off.

I clicked around to 2 digit view twitch streams and asked if the game was solo player friendly and every single one of 'em said it wasn't. What's your opinions?

Currently the games price tag is a big no-no for me and my audience. Checked out the content creator program page but it seemed more worded towards twitch streaming than youtube so I didn't really bother.

What do you guys say? Should I e-beg my audience to get me a key, or is there a site where larger content creators can go to get access? I've been looking for a new MMO to main.

I know the company that made this game is located in California. Are there heavily left-leaning by chance? I was going to main Corepunk but that company had wayyy too many leftists in power on their discord for me to support it, even when offered 5 digit amounts to make guides for them. I just don't like how I was treated there.

The game doesn't seem solo friendly. Some classes are more suitable for it. The shaman seems decent as long as you have mana. Dire lord and paladin seem the best at solo because they don't need to use mana to recover hp.

You CAN solo. It's there but it's kind of an afterthought right now. They will make it better though. Really, the game mostly shines in group play. That's where you have the most fun. But, sure, you can solo. I do it all the time. From what I understand, the devs will be making solo a lot more fun. Just gotta wait for that. Hoping we start seeing some content updates soon.

This game is a long way from having a solo path through the game. it needs quests that would reward payers with some basic gear, this should be behind the level drops a player could get from grouping but enough to let a player continue to fight close to level mobs in solo, this would also give players who group up something to do and fill in gear slots they dont gety from bad luck.

This needs to happen because with otu it casuals will stop playing and the game will wither

Damn. Same thing killed Corepunk. That game forced grouping very early on and the only way around it was with massive cheese strats and buff stacking only achievable if you went way out of your way to get.

I haven't noticed any cheese in this which is good. The class synergy works very well and it's cool to see how they all fit into one another during group sessions.

no, this is the kind of thing that has ruined mmos.
There are solo ways to play the game, most classes can solo exp slowly if they want to. Basic things like trading with other players.
There is no reason to expect to fight even level cons, this is not even a real issue since its entirely arbitrary what counts as an even level powerlevel wise. In older mmos typically even level mobs are hard and the even con of it was for grouping and if you did solo you stuck to lower cons, then mmos changed to where even cons are what you ground on solo. This is entirely a psychological distinction. While i guess it wouldnt matter to simply shift the con colors this is the way some older mmos did it and so consider it a homage. Basically white con should be equivalent to your power level and so very challenging, this is actually realistic when you think about it. Its saying its a fair fight and so you might lose.

MMOs are about grouping and taking that away has destroyed mmo communities.
Convenience destroys community. The only trick is to not have things that feel arbitrarily punishing. This game is fairly casual as far as old school mmos go, you can already solo way more easily than the game it models itself after. The pve challenge here is far more like DAoC than EQ.

I do not believe any doomsaying, everyone in modern day is just mmo hopping because there is nothing left of soul in them, its all been convenienced away and when they find a new game they demand it become the game they have just left. Its like the trope of californians moving to other states because california sucks then trying to turn it into california (not true by the way but people know the meme). I hope the devs stick to the plan, i think they already compromised from what they should have in designing their plan, but the addictive property of old mmos is still there in this one so whatever mysterious conjunction of qualities produces that has not been killed yet.

They aught to improve the UI though

Eh, no emails, dev response, or rando's adding me to gift me the game so it probably won't happen.
Ratman Johnson Dec 30, 2024 @ 1:54pm
splattercat (actual big youtuber but non-mmo focused) covered it
When I say "cover" I mean actually making guides and tutorials and helpful useful stuff. Not "Hey I played a game once."
