Cleric or Paladin
How are these 2 classes? Can cleric go more offensive type and still get nice heals? Or have to go Paladin? Is 2-handed worth it? I'm an outsider wonder if I should dive in this game. Thanks

Both classes are quite strong and hold their own in a lot of different situations.

I have not played a paladin. I am currently playing a cleric and I am level 10. I have been able to solo mobs 3 levels higher than me, slowly, but easily.

In groups I can keep everyone alive, even when they make stupid mistakes.

This is one of the few mmos I seen that did Paladin right.

Solo's very well. With proper resource management you never ever have to sit to recover health. For funzies I went to a bandit camp at lv 8 that has a buncha light blue to blue con solo bandits in it. I took 7 of them all at once and never got to low health.

How I did this? Simple really. Grab em all at once, use my AoE dot skill, yea, Paladins get a AoE dot skill that also gives additional hate. Everytime it ticks on em all I get a ton of readiness. I use my single target damage move that also heals me for about 30-35 percent of my health. I keep building up wrath with my wrath gaining strike and my wrath granting buff, if I ever need to I can use my heal that uses wrath, otherwise I use my Conal attack move that uses wrath while keeping the dot up and hitting the Healing attack move every 5 seconds. All of them go down, the warrior and cleric duo boxer nearby sits there watching nearby drowning in irrelevance.

Pantheon is at this time, extremely lacking in everything that it needs, but the one single silver lining I like? Is how complete Paladin's kit feels.

There isn't really "branching" of skill trees. You can build based on gear you choose and which abilities you put on your action bar. At some point the mastery system will be turned back on which will let you mastery abilities to gain additional benefits to them.

Generally speaking though a cleric is a cleric. There won't be some clerics who do more or less damage than others based on their abilities, it'll just be based on how you choose to play.

I would be shocked if cleric is ever an offensive powerhouse. It will traditionally be a healer if not THE healer in a group. At level 12-15 range Ive had a couple groupings that had both a cleric and a shaman in them. The cleric would always heal and the shaman would do debuffs and damage and backup heal if necessary. I wouldnt go into cleric thinking of damage, that would be a niche thing.

I made a cleric lvl 15 its a tank .... can solo blue group mobs even some white and yellow but let me say this it takes forever your dmg is so low that it takes minutes to kill non group mobs some times ... paladin is great to heal in groups and seem to do decent dmg but i don't know much about the play style yet

I'm not sure how masteries will affect classes or allow different ways to build a class but it would be nice.
