I saw six races and got excited. Like oh that covers yer basics; humans, elves, dwarves, some kind of troll/orc, perhaps there will be something more exotic than just a differently sized human with or without pastel colored skin and long ears.

I am not sure if "gnomes" are in the game, they look kind'a neat. Still just humanoids but neat. https://www.pantheonmmo.com/game/races/ found that here.

I get it though, making something that isn't exactly humanoid shape bloats design scope and makes for a horrible upkeep for future content. Wishing y'all the best though, I hope you succeed! Making an mmo is tough. If you ever do add a beast/monster/unconventional race I'll give the game a shot.

Adding new character animations, especially for non-humanoid body shapes, is costly but the game just entered EA so it is possible that more races will be added in the future; in addition to the planned races of Gnome, Skar and Archai. Iksar, for example, a humanoid race with a tail were added to Everquest in the first expansion.

I honestly fail to see the point of making a post saying "I'm not playing because you don't have a race I'm interested in". I played when there was on the human race. Game play greater than race choice.
