Well, if players are expecting an in-game GPS they are, likely, going to be disappointed because the devs have explicitly stated that is not what they intend to implement. Being forced to implement an in-game GPS due to market pressure is possible though but, please note that, it goes against Pantheon's basic tenets; the same is true with the current death penalty.
I can't say anything about that because I can easily orientate myself without a map. Any map would probably be enough for me. However, I have honestly to say that it is absolutely impossible for me to understand how a "normal" map is not enough to orient yourself? Maybe you should then rephrase your demand: what these people want is a navigation device not a Map

Who isn't? May I suggest letting your interest bear a little fruit? $40 is barely a meal out these days and that money will help. You have little to lose I'd say.
