You could use the search function next time then you would know the topic has already been discussed a thousand times and that a map is planned

so, youre telling me theres a chance...
I believe that the plan is for an in-game map but more of an illustrated map with landmarks, no coordinates and, most definitely, no displaying your position in real-time (like a GPS).

That's as much as they need to do, TBH. That and no more.

Nothing wrong with that, but it is basically useless except for like a novelty. which is not what people who want a map, are expecting or asking for.

Well, if players are expecting an in-game GPS they are, likely, going to be disappointed because the devs have explicitly stated that is not what they intend to implement. Being forced to implement an in-game GPS due to market pressure is possible though but, please note that, it goes against Pantheon's basic tenets; the same is true with the current death penalty.

I can't say anything about that because I can easily orientate myself without a map. Any map would probably be enough for me. However, I have honestly to say that it is absolutely impossible for me to understand how a "normal" map is not enough to orient yourself? Maybe you should then rephrase your demand: what these people want is a navigation device not a Map

Im actually EQ player from 1999. I was interested in this project when announced in 2014. As time progressed and the game floundered, I decided it would not be for me, however I still have a passing interest in it.

Who isn't? May I suggest letting your interest bear a little fruit? $40 is barely a meal out these days and that money will help. You have little to lose I'd say.

Makes me wonder how well she navigates IRL. Depending on the area I could see it being a total nightmare.

Here is an interactive map that you can alt tab to and from, it also gives you recipes and other things like npc locations and whatever you will need.

Use the compass, and if you get lost, ask for help in game. Following roads can also help you .

As somebody who almost didn’t play this game cuz it doesn’t have a map, I can say that I hope this game never has more than just a visual representation of the world. It’s actually quite fun to actually “learn the world”
