On the other side, didnt they mention already that there will be a pvp server? thanks in advance to whoever can answer
Hmm. Something seems fishy there.
The thing is that particular streamer has a bad habit about talking about things that may or may not be accurate at the time. A lot of wishful thinking. Said streamer also said druid were supposed to come in like February...
This is why VR needs to fix the way they communicate and get a timeline together on how and when they want to release things.
They're really, really bad at communicating. I don't know if it's the community manager or if they just don't hold a brief weekly meeting to go over things or what?
So over the years of development whenever PvP was brought up, the general response from Joppa was that it's something they want to worry about AFTER they have the game figured out, and he would float these random ideas like alternate rulesets on the PvP servers which made it fairly clear that not only was PvP on the back-burner, but they haven't even come to a consensus on what they intend to do with it.
Nowadays when PvP is brought up on Joppa's livestreams, his response is always a tepid assurance that it'll come around eventually, he always sounds like he's talking to a senile old man in a nursing home when he talks about it so I wouldn't get your hopes up that there'll be serviceable PvP in this game before second launch, let alone ever.
I don't want to participate in today's PvP system.
Liking PvP or Not is not the current issue.
Consider the fact that the game is currently lacking in totality, as in core gameplay, zones, quests, economy, crafting, class design and so much more.
So with this in mind, even considering adding PvP, you will be detracting from design of the above, you will be getting limited support on balance issues, and the balance issues will be constantly fighting with the classic "How do you balance a class for PvE and PvP at the same time".
This dev team is currently in the struggle bus or has been run over by it in so many categories, They cannot handle this new extra load of work and conflict. Not only this, but I do not even believe they have the expertise to even consider all the extra logistics needed for a PvP game.
I understand your personal excitement and many others, for PvP, but this game cannot support it at this time.
I do not like today's PvP and do not want to participate in such PvP.
