I've been struggling to find anything solo appropriate at level 15. Grizzly bears and spiders in AVP have been the closest thing I can find but now at level 17 most of them are green or light blue, some are even gray.
Word on the street from Joppa's last stream is that this next patch inbound weds is supposed to be focused on 15-20 content and be substantial. So I guess we shall see.
I have leveled 5 classes up to 10 now and all of them had no issues soloing with some being very powerful in how they solo'd (ie shaman doing even, yellow and orange cons)
Mobs are mixed a bit in terms of level variations though, so it can be dangerous in some areas (especially at night).
Also, don't look at the zone as "this is only for this level". AV has variation, but in the next zone AP, there are a lot of mobs in that range as well.
Keep in mind how the zones flow as well. There are tons of places to climb up to which have an area of certain level mobs and the like as well.
Explore more, there is quite a bit out there to "solo" on.
Yeah, I am not sure this is the case, but when they were talking about how their server tech works in the past, they were saying that they could do a lot of "on the fly" adjustments to the game without needing to do major patching and the like.
I noticed this on various things that popped into the game in the past and I knew it wasn't there before and there wasn't a patch put in.
It starts to get bad around level 8. You will run across an occasional blue mob but it's not enough to make a difference while you wait for real groups at the limited camps. Just need to keep the exp bar moving some.
I love the thought, but its just not rational at the stage the game is at atm.
I disagree. It started getting bad for me at around lvl 16. Not many mobs in that lvl range in AVP. Lvl 1-15 soloing was quite a breeze.
Ya really starting around 16ish the game really just dies. If you do not have the time to group or cannot find a group might as well log out. That is how it feels atm.
The snakes are ok but if there is one more person there its pretty much dead.
If you want to see a good example of what happens to a game that has no solo content, you can look at Embers Adrift. Embers wasn't a bad game, and had very similar design concepts to Pantheon. Except they completely omitted solo content, and only after the player-base was reduced to a couple dozen players a day, did they correct course and start adding some solo friendly content. It was a bit too late at that point.
The way it usually works is, you have content for solo players that is engaging and allows you to progress. But the best stuff and the fastest progression requires a group. You need solo players to stay in the game long enough to join a group. If people are logging in and feel like they have nothing to do, they will simply log out. If that happens enough, they won't bother logging in at all.
you said it better then i could have thats 2nd major reason why i am waiting atm the end game level's
1st major reason is waiting for them to be done with total toon wipes so my over all progress does not get lost
