How About a Few Level-Appropriate Solo Mobs?
I don't mind waiting for groups or camps if there's stuff for me to kill. Just give me some solo mobs to kill so my EXP bar isn't sitting stagnant for days on end.

even EQ back in '99 had decent solo opportunities for even the classes who couldnt really solo. Im looking at you Cleric's of Unrest!
What level are you at?

I've been struggling to find anything solo appropriate at level 15. Grizzly bears and spiders in AVP have been the closest thing I can find but now at level 17 most of them are green or light blue, some are even gray.

There are a few places but I feel like the spawn rates are a bit slow. Hopefully more areas and such get added and balanced

Word on the street from Joppa's last stream is that this next patch inbound weds is supposed to be focused on 15-20 content and be substantial. So I guess we shall see.

My almost-level-nine Shaman found a spot with a mix of light blues and blues, with the odd yellow con mob to solo, but there need to be more mobs around. Forming/finding a group is a painfully slow exercise, and just as you get going someone says 'sorry' and leaves! Generally there's at least two groups at each spot anyway. I have decided to solo all the time now - it's less hassle, it saves wasting time waiting for groups, and there are no arguments over who gets the loot. If I want to take time out to get a coffee and a snack, I can do so any time I like. It's the only way to go, at least for me.

There are plenty of places to solo, you just have to explore more.

I have leveled 5 classes up to 10 now and all of them had no issues soloing with some being very powerful in how they solo'd (ie shaman doing even, yellow and orange cons)

Mobs are mixed a bit in terms of level variations though, so it can be dangerous in some areas (especially at night).

Also, don't look at the zone as "this is only for this level". AV has variation, but in the next zone AP, there are a lot of mobs in that range as well.

Keep in mind how the zones flow as well. There are tons of places to climb up to which have an area of certain level mobs and the like as well.

Explore more, there is quite a bit out there to "solo" on.

They actually just added some, a few days ago I explored the area directly around the big white castle, like the lawn/orchard around it, and there were a couple of low level solo mobs. Well just this morning they've added spiders of a higher level as well. So it should take you up to seven instead of just 5.

Yeah, I am not sure this is the case, but when they were talking about how their server tech works in the past, they were saying that they could do a lot of "on the fly" adjustments to the game without needing to do major patching and the like.

I noticed this on various things that popped into the game in the past and I knew it wasn't there before and there wasn't a patch put in.

It starts to get bad around level 8. You will run across an occasional blue mob but it's not enough to make a difference while you wait for real groups at the limited camps. Just need to keep the exp bar moving some.

This game community is too small for no solo content. Way too small. Its going to cause it to get smaller and make huge walls for new players and people who can't find a group of people they like.

I love the thought, but its just not rational at the stage the game is at atm.

I disagree. It started getting bad for me at around lvl 16. Not many mobs in that lvl range in AVP. Lvl 1-15 soloing was quite a breeze.

Ya really starting around 16ish the game really just dies. If you do not have the time to group or cannot find a group might as well log out. That is how it feels atm.

The snakes are ok but if there is one more person there its pretty much dead.

They have said that they were working on more solo content. Joppa was working on an orc camp on stream the other day that I think was going to have some solo mobs around the perimeter. But I do hope they're able to get something out relatively soon that helps people who are playing solo. It's ok to have a group focus, but it's not good to have solo players struggling to advance.

If you want to see a good example of what happens to a game that has no solo content, you can look at Embers Adrift. Embers wasn't a bad game, and had very similar design concepts to Pantheon. Except they completely omitted solo content, and only after the player-base was reduced to a couple dozen players a day, did they correct course and start adding some solo friendly content. It was a bit too late at that point.

The way it usually works is, you have content for solo players that is engaging and allows you to progress. But the best stuff and the fastest progression requires a group. You need solo players to stay in the game long enough to join a group. If people are logging in and feel like they have nothing to do, they will simply log out. If that happens enough, they won't bother logging in at all.
