G27 Wheel Seemingly Disconnects Intermittently
I have recently bought a Logitech G27 wheel. I have no problems with the force feedback in Assetto Corsa, Raceroom Racing Experience, Project Cars and F1 2014. However, Grid Autosport, Dirt 3 and Dirt Rally all exhibit symptoms, that make it impossible to drive with the wheel.

Any race/practice session will start out fine with positive firm steering and other force feedback effects. But shortly after that, the wheel loses all feedback and is very unresponsive to steering input for about 1 second, before force feedback cuts back in. This event may re-occur on average about every ten seconds. Additional symptoms, although not synchronised with the feedback cut out, are graphics freezing for about a second and the Windows audio event for 'device connected' sounding. There are no problems with any of the games when using a X-Box 360 Controller.

System Specs:

Intel® Core™i7 Six Core Processor i7-3930K (3.2GHz) 12MB Cache
ASUS® SABERTOOTH X79
16GB KINGSTON HYPERX BEAST DUAL-DDR3 2400MHz
2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 760

Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit

...............................................................................

I have also tried running the G27 Wheel with Dirt Rally on my previous computer, which has the following system specs:

Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-930 (2.80GHz) 4.8GTs/8MB Cache
Motherboard ASUS® P6X58D-E
Memory (RAM) 8GB SAMSUNG DDR3 DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz
Graphics Card 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX460

Windows 7/SP1 Pro 64 bit

On this system the wheel works perfectly !!

Any thoughts or advice regarding this issue would be appreciated.

Try pluggin the USB directly a the Motheboard's usb, not front panel usb due to less energy

Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow. However, I'm not too optimistic since the wheel worked fine from the front panel on my Windows 7 PC, plus the problem is specific to Grid Autopsort, Dirt 3 and Dirst Rally, All of my other racing 'games', including F1 2014, work fine from the front panel.

Thanks again,

Mike

Exact same problem with my Fanatec GT2, wheel works fine in all other games but in Dirt Rally it's like it disconnects every few seconds :(
Game is unplayable for me.

same issue here with g27. unplugging it and plugging it back in fixes it, but its annoying to have to do that mid stage.
