g27, no reverse with h-pattern + clutch *SOLVED*
As the title says, using my standard g27 equipment with that control scheme I can't get it to go into reverse. I've been using the manual sequential setting which works and is still enjoyable, but I miss my clutch. Anyone else having this problem, or got any advice?

Just chiming in to say I've been able to use the Reverse gear with my G27 with h-pattern and clutch. Maybe try to reset the button assignments in the settings.

here is working ok too.. apart from the clutch needing to be pressed all the way down to make a shift.

Well I feel kinda stupid, but I did figure out the problem in my case. I had read that some cars have 7 gears, so in my attempt to be clever I assigned gear 7 to be triggered by moving the shifter out of sixth back into neutral (the game called it "inverse button 14", or whatever number gear 6 is assigned to).

I don't know all the exact reasons this messed things up, but it definitely screwed up the game recognizing the neutral position of the shifter and that just cascaded into a host of other problems I didn't go into detail earlier, like getting stuck in specific gears and the aforementioned neutral and reverse simply not working.

What fixed it was reloading the default g27 setup which cleared the gear 7 assignment (as Slocan up there suggested, thank you). If you're reading this Codemasters, it'd be nice to have a "clear selection" option for individual controls, maybe I missed it but it certainly isn't the escape key. I'm not really sure what I'm gonna do when I get to the 7 gear cars, not that that gear would get much use but still. Hopefully by then they'll have added clutch support to the paddle shifters, which work just fine on their own but make me yearn for my clutch.
