[BUG] Default setup is bugged for everyone

Dear Codemasters,

It has been 84 years since you released 1.02. I can tell you I am very happy with you game, althrough you neglect to fix/patch some stuff since a 1.5 month. However I found a bug. I couldn't lay my finger on it, but now I am 100% sure.

Long story short:

Yesterday I was test-driving my Maxi Sweden setup, which features rear-braking and other stuff. It was awesome. (except for the cheated leaderboards)

Today I went in one of the leagues I am particating in, and we all know leagues are currently bugged since 1.0, so I had to start with default setup, because we can't tune our cars. Nonetheless when I launched from start (in reverse of Rasnabyter) I discovered I wasn't driving the default setup; I was driving my Maxi Sweden setup! Default setup has front-braking, less negative camber angle, and much more, but I had rear-braking, more negative camber angle, my own gears.

I knew this is the bug I am seeing for weeks but I couldn't lay my finger on it. For example if I started a Finland custom event, and I played Wales previousily, the Finland default setup (unless I restore it by pressing the restore button) appears to be my own Wales setup. Still there?

So thousands of people particating in the dailies, and bugged leagues are driving the wrong setups for weeks! Which can be treated as game-breaking because they are not driving what Codemasters has made default per track. So if you have drove your own last car setup you are pretty screwed if you particate in a default daily/bugged league.

Conclusion: Till this is fixed, and all other bugs are fixed, I suggest to unlock setups for dailies Or fix it so leagues are playable again

I got suspiecious after Fiat 131 daily 2 days back. Something felt so wrong and I am sure I was driving with wrong setup that carried over from previous run.
I decided to do custom event of daily track before trying daily to make sure there is default setup.
The worst part is that one can probably save and exit with nice custom setup that will carry over to daily....so practicing before your daily is double benefit - you get to remind the track and you drive with your correct setup.

I was just driving Monaco in a league. I practiced with default setup beforehand as I knew the league would be default too. 1st gear went to ~55kph and 2nd to ~80kph.
Then I was playing some other tracks and played with the gear ratios, I usually lengthen 1st gear on gravel. Anyway, I then went and played the league event proper and suddenly I'm bogged down right at the start and I slowly crawl all the way up to 85kph in 1st gear. Basically, it was using my gearing from a custom event I had recently done. All hairpins were a real struggle to pull out of.
This is a joke. How can you make a game so good but totally fail at some basic options- like everytime an event starts it either uses default setup or you are given a choice to choose your own.
Any comment would be appreicated.

agreed. but what do we expect when there is the big "feature-complete" delivery-wagon coinciding with the official release-date right before the holidays!?

That took some guts to pull it off, yet unfortunately it wasted the opportunity to engage - right away - into a live conversation with the community figuring out all those mishaps that naturally occur during development of such a big project.

That is project management though, they planned to release it before christmas and needed to do it at the beginning of december since people were leaving the office for holidays, so in my opinion there is no coincidence.

Well Ivy gave me an idea to hopefully confirm his own findings. I set up a practice league with restarts allowed to mirror the league I'm currently running in. I started Finland and I was stuck with a crazy long first gear, up to 85kph again. I restarted the stage, same thing, i quit, restarted the game and same thing, then I started a custom event, same track, same car, default setup, and it was great, 1st gear was up to 55-60kph as is usual for stock setup. I quit the custom event, went into the league and this time it worked fine with the expected stock setup.
So I'll put my name next to Ivy's in saying that the 'stock setup' in a league isn't actually stock and is instead altered depending on what you last drove.

And in response to Kobe, yeah, I totally agree, project management is about more than just meeting the deadline, and while codies have done amazingly through early access, it's such a shame that there seems to be complete silence at the time when they should be making the most noise, i.e. a few weeks after release. We can all forgive bugs during early access, but bugs in a finished game deserve an immediate comment of when they will be addressed.

So, next thing to try is to do a custom setup in custom event, and see if that travels across to the league :)

hasn't happened for me, have tested it out a few times as I have some really nice setups, but come out of practice in custom rally and go straight to daily and handling is total ♥♥♥♥♥ as usual.

To my knowledge this bug still appears. However, it doens't appears when you never used a setup before.

I had a league with 80's and 4 mixed stages. It appears that in Wales was using my own Wales setup, but the other stages where normal default by Codies.

Had the same problem today in a league race. Ran 2 quick events (Germany, where I have a setup for this car (Fiesta)), all was well. Ran the final stages in the league (same car / country) and it was all wrong.

My "setup" is only gearing on this, so this shouldn't account for the drastic change in handling. I will try adjust other things in that setup, see if I can get it to stick...

yesterday, doing weekly 2, which is owners cars and own setups, I have a really nice setup for the Escort Cosworth in Wales. Made sure I selected my Wales setup before first two stages, Had a good run, happy with my times, did service and went straight to 3 stage, car was terrible for those two stages went off lost time, got to second service and checked the wales setup as it was finishing stage 4 and it wasn't mine, damping gearing and diffs all over the place, reselected my setup after car repairs and had two good final stages.


So all I can say is on daily and weekly where you can useyour own setups is, DON"T ASSUME, make sure you reselect your setups after each service

This bug is getting fixed and if not out before, it will be in the 1.1 patch.
