Doesn't look like it's ever getting fixed :(
I only got my G920 recently and Google brought me here.
After that close project crap (not a fan of pc)and start dirt go too control options select g29 preset then check too make sure its seeing the steering left and right as wheel(it will have a picture of a wheel instead of LS and a stick icon)then go through settings and set wheel and options up for H pattern and clutch this should fix it it did for me

Your Steam Client offers a controller interface, it can cause problems if you are using another driver/app/emulator for your device.
There is a switch to turn these settings on/off for each game. Right click on the game in steam library and choose properties. "Steam Input Per-Game Setting" ; “Use your Global Steam Input" for on, "Force Off" to disable. Select Force Off.
Some have reported this setting can change on its own when Steam client updates. Using big picture mode might also turn this switch back on.
