Logitech G920 causes stuttering
I have owned dirt rally for a while now. I used to be able to play it with no troubles until one day it started stuttering (momentary freezing every 5-10seconds) whilst using my Logitech G920 racing wheel.

This stuttering is not a FPS drop. My FPS counter shows a steady 60FPS the whole way through. It just seems to freeze momentarily (audio and force feedback continue to work fine, just the display freezes) and then catch up to where you are. It makes the game unplayable now and I've tried every trick the forums I've read suggested, mainly:
- rolling back my Nividia drivers to an older version
- uninstalling Geforce experience
- exiting Logitech Gaming Software before playing (could not find any old Logitech G920 drivers on their website to try rolling back the wheel's driver).
- making sure antivirus is on silent mode before playing
- disconnecting Xbox controller from PC
- updating USB drivers

Nothing I've tried has helped. The game is still unplayable when the wheel is connected. It is fine when the wheel is disconnected, but that's not how I want to play.

Any help would be appreciated.

My stats:
MSI GT72 6QD
Nividia Geforce 970M
Intel i7-6700HQ
Windows 10 64bit
16GB RAM

Welcome to Logitech wheel stuttering in DR. Ive fighted this also with my G25, but never fixed it. I can however play the game but only when i fire up my PC, I have to first uninstall lgs510 x64 and then install it again, then for that day i have my PC open I can play without stutter. Come night and i shut down the pc, i will have to do it again the next day if i want to play without stutter. AND YES, I do have autoupdates turned off for all devices and controllers.
None of my usb 3 ports have anything plugged in to them. Nor is my G25 wheel plugged into any hub.
Donno if this helps you any but give it ago.

And interestingly enough you confirm what I saw when I reinstalled the G25, oldethumper. Wasn't sure until now.

I am encountering similar issue with G920 steering wheel.
It started when I upgraded from Win 7 64bit to Win 10 64bit.
Looks like it is Logitech drivers related or how Win 10 handles USB communication.

Stattering is also affecting desktop applications.
Before I run DiRT Rally I check if stattering is present already.
For example play MP3 back with any media application, use steering wheel to check if stattering is there.

It solves problem when you unplug and re-plug G920 wheel, problem is gone for a while.

When you're in game and problem occurs. Pause game, unplug controller and re-plug again.
Problem should be gone for a while too. Keep in mind that you might have to alt+tab from the game to open Logitech control application to get specific game preset (if any) back as it doesn't recognize that game is already running.

I hope this workaround will work for you.
